The UK FootDarts Championship Rules
Age categories
- U11s (7 yr olds – 11 yr olds)
- U16s (12 yr olds – 16 yr olds)
- Adults (17 yr olds +)
Each player starts with a score of 180 and takes turns to kick 3 balls. The score for each turn is calculated and deducted from the players total. Bullseye scores 50, the outer ring scores 25 and a ball in the double or treble ring counts double or treble the segment score. The objective is to be the first player to reduce the score to exactly zero.
If a player reduces the score to below zero, the score is bust, that turn ends immediately and the score is returned to what it was at the start of that turn. e.g. if a player has 32 to go out and the first kick is a 16, the second is a 17, the player is bust and the score is returned to 32. So on the last turn, it is not necessary to kick all 3 balls – a player can win with the first or second kick of the turn.
The tournament format is a rapid-fire tournament where all participants are placed into a ‘bracket’ and face opposing player, round after round in order to advance along the bracket as far as possible. You will play either 1 quick fire game or in some tournaments it will be first to ‘3 Sets’ with first to ‘3 games’ to win a Set.
During a tournament, a loss means that the competitor is eliminated and has no more matches to play.
The tournament will naturally conclude with a Grand Final between the two remaining undefeated players.
